How much does it cost to get all the required surfing gear?

I was wondering what an estimated cost would be for someone who wants to get into surfing and needs all the gear.|||All you're really gonna need is a board, some board shorts, a leash if your just starting and some wax.





My advice would be to find a local surf shop and not a big board house like a Ron Jons or something of the sort, cause the local shops are always willing to help you out.





But, for a beginners board, I'd say anywhere between $175 - $250


A leash will run you about $12-15


And you can just use normal swim trunks until you need board shorts, they can run you from $30-60|||That's the best thing about surfing...all you need is the board and you are done!


If your just learning you can get a foam board for about $100. But most used boards run in the $200-400 range and new boards can be about $600+


Most surfboards come with a leash and fins but a leash is only about $20


And that is all you need!





Besides wax every now and then which is a dollar or two and if you love it enough to surf into the colder weather, wetsuits run about $100-$200|||If you are learning, the best board would be a longboard. These are around $700+ new and around $400+ second hand. Additionally you will need a leg rope which is around $25 - $40, but some boards may come with these on purchase. You will then need wax which is around $5. Personal preference will then depict what surfing attire you want to use. Whether you want to wear board shorts, rash vest, wetsuit. generally a cheap wetsuit is around $150 but can range up to $600.|||Right now, in the UK, you will need:

Thermal Rash Vest: 拢30-拢40 (depending on qualilty of your wetsuit)

Totally worth it, get wet!!|||All you need is a second hand surfboard, you can pick them up for around $150.00

experience - priceless|||all you really need is a board, and you can find used ones for really cheap on craigslist. i saw some decent boards on there for under $100 before.|||Wet suit will run about 300. The board.. a ling board, will run about 1000. Total 1300.
