What is the best place in Hawaii to improve my surfing?

I've been surfing for a few months on long boards, and I'm getting really bored. I want to learn to surf shortboards. I stayed in Northern California for a little while but it was really cold and foggy, and I stayed in Florida for a little while but the waves sucked. I want to go to Hawaii for a few months and rent a house and learn how to ride shortboards. What place would be best for this?|||Start on the south shore, Threes, Kaisers ,Ala Moana bowl.

Then think about Chun's reef or Rockies on the North shore later

Don't even think about pipe or off the wall|||Waikiki bro you need to master long board 1st . then gradually go from small waves and long boards to bigger waves and shorter boards but in the end you are limited on how big a wave you can on a short board. unless you tow in. master the long board. you'll find its much more versatile any many waves compared to short board surfing. anyway longboarding is in now. and believe me if there is a crowd you and your long board will rule!. the little shorties will be scurrying around like cockroaches as you kick back and wait for those big ones to come to you. short boarding also looks jurky, long board you can style my brother. hana ho|||california is better towards the end of the year when the waves are awesome

check out san diego and pacifica.

the weather has actually been getting sunny and the waves are fantastic|||banzai
