Surfing magazines make California one of the top ten surfing destinations in the world. For Christmas, I bought my husband and I a weekend trip to California, but our trip is short. What is the best surfing beach close to the LAX airport and the coolest town in the area for quaint pubs and funky restaurants?
Any thoughts?|||When I learned to surf a year ago my dad took me to San Clemente because the waves are melo. The town is unbelievable it has so much to do. Another fun town is Laguna Beach I was raised there and it is so Californiaish. There is a candy shop, stores, and you can rent bycicles. Personally, San Clemente is a better surfing spot and Laguna Beach is a Better hang out spot but they are only 10 minutes away.
THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!1|||Although it's about an hour away, Trails ant San Onofre state beach is an excellent beginner beach. It's just south of San Clemente. Stay in San Clemente. It's chill and a good location to hit the other area beach communities in Southern Orange County and Northern San Diego County.
