I would like to add 3 laptops to a 5mbps Dry DSL internet connection. Mainly these users use it for emails, surfing the internet and some YouTube clips. Would that be enough or would that lag our connection ?
Thanks|||those turtles in the exfinity commercials have faster internet so no.|||Of course that is enough. More than enough. Because of port throttling and QoS issues no one pulls down their potential usage. Other answerers need to go google goodput. Without knowing your goodput 5mbps is just some huge abstract number you wont ever hit. Also NetMeeter is a program that will give you a visual readout in real time and you can see for yourself the lack of bandwidth people actuialy use.|||It will do fine. I remember when pushing 10,000 users through an OC3 used to be more than adequate. That's an average of 2.6kbs per user during max loading or crappy modem speed. Max loading almost never happens, so real average speeds of 5mbs per user were common. 3 users will not experience lag in your configuration unless they are abusing it watching movies or streaming audio full-time in the background.|||You will be taxing it
