I have to make a powerpoint and i am finding difficulties finding information on the different types of surfing waves. =[ can you help?|||it depends where you go..you can get reef breaks which is when waves break over reefs also known as "dry reef" which is usually really sharp and if you stack then you usually hit the reef or rocks. also there are sand bars etc.. but diffferent waves include wedges which is when two waves colide going sideways which send a big triangle of water into the air which is fun to get air off. also there are barrels which is where the wave barrels in a cylinder type shape.. also close outs which barrel and and then close out so there is no way of escaping and you usually eat it. hope this helps..if not if you type it into youtube you might get a better answer.|||Every wave is different, so it's hard to say.
First thing to say is waves go left or right, or they a-frame (go both ways...hah).
Waves can vary in size and length, aswell as steepness. No wave is alike.
Some waves just crumble, others have powerful and heavy barrels.
Waves that crumble can vary dramatically, waves that barrel can vary dramatically. Barreling waves can be top-to-bottom, but waves that barrel don't necessarily go top-to-bottom.|||someone already listed the types of breaks up there ie reef, point, beach etc..but if you literally want some different waves types they are: crumbly, top to bottom, and a-frame. crumbly waves dont have any sort of tube. they seem to crumble as they break. these are good for beginners examples are huntington beach, malibu, and waikiki..top to bottom waves break, like the name insisits, from top to bottom. these waves have large tubes and are walled out.. examples are pipeline, mavericks, and teahupoo..a-frames break at their peak in both directions. .they can crumble or go top to bottom..examples are monster munch and rancho santana|||The water ones, and then the ones where you see your friend on the beach and wave to them.
Answer mine please? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>|||beach break, reef break, point break, spilling wave, surging wave, that's all i got.
