I am going surfing this weekend and was wondering what mode and what other specs should i set to get the best out of my camera.|||Unless you are talking about browsing the internet, I don't believe the nikon was made for that (I don't think it's waterproof).
If I were you I would just have someone take pictures of me from the shore.
You will want the longest zoom lens you can afford (but I would not recommend less than 300mm at the long end).
I've taken pictures of surfers (not professionally) and even at 300mm they can come out pretty small in the pictures, depending on how far out they are.
