Where is a good beach with moderate sized waves that is not Waikiki for surfing and board rental?

I'm ok at surfing, I can stand up and ride sideways, but not a big wave rider or exactly a shredder. I'll be on Oahu for a few days and am looking for a beach with some moderate sized clean sets where I can ideally get small tube ride at some point. Also would be nice if they have a board rental around with descent boards not the shitty heavy ones or foam crap.

Thanks!!!|||Aloha, right now some places on the north shore are running around 4' Hawaiian but I wont tell you any spots on that side the waves size can double in minutes and a 4' foot on the north has the power of a 5 or 6' on the west side, with more reef and current. Stay on the west side south is running small west is running 2 to 4' try Tracks in Nanakuli can be a Little ruff if you are an outsider with an attitude or you start snaking waves. Swabie land is good but it is a long paddle and you should go with some one in case you run in to trouble. White plains has a lot of people 2 to 3' waves and is safe but no barrels both Swabbies and White plans are in Kapolei. In Eva you have Howbush and Shark Country which are small this time of year but Worth the drive out just in case it's happening. Board rentals check any surf shop they all have a quiver of loaner boards mostly HIC or Island Classic with a few Surf Tecs in the mix.|||Some really good surfing spots are: Ali'i Beach Park, Chuns Reef, Kalama Beach, La'ie Beach Park.

If your just ok at surfing i suggest going to Kalama Beach because the shorebreak is not too unbearable and they are usually pretty easily to ride. All in all, i hope you have fun riding those waves!
